Heather Alexa Woodfield is a costume artist, performer, and wearer (and maker) of many hats. Her creations are inspired by the history of costume, textiles, fashion, and cinema. With a flair for drama, narrative, and satire, she creates and embodies looks ranging from historic surrealist to punk sophisticate to futurist couture.
About the 3D Hat Blocks Collection
Woodfield Designs’ collection of 3D printed hat blocks and tools are designed for millinery and patternmaking. All items are made from biodegradable plant-based materials; the blocks and headsize plates also include real wood fibers, which makes them pinable.
Available in full and half-inch sizes from 21-25
Pins
Blocks are suitable for use with dressmaker pins or thin blocking pins. Use with pushpins, thumbtacks, and t-pins is not recommended.
Heat & Steam
Block designs have been tested with a Jiffy steamer and steam-generating iron. Always cover your block with plastic or foil before blocking.
